Calendars, Rugby, Music, Cinema

Age: 15,16
Project Year: 2010-11

Students covered a number of topics collaboratively

Pupils have made use of the forums and wikis to get to know each other by uploading their profiles. They also discussed their projects and exchanged information and content on the following areas:

A local calendar: Students worked on a local calendar for 2011 which included images of local tourist spot. The photo on the right shows pupils with their collaborative Calendar. As well as the local calanders students created cinema calanders including popular movies and quotes.

Sport: Students collaboratively created wiki's about various sports including rugby, soccer and tennis. They included general information about the sport and about the local and national clubs.

Music: Students created wiki's discussing the types of music, famous musicians and music festivals.

Pupils have enjoyed the experience as they have been able to participate in situations generally outside their experience eg using a forum, videoconferencing and creating wikis. It has been of great benefit in their ICT studies and has made them more appreciative of planning time and how to work with others at a distance.

Face-to-Face

Both schools met at the Dundalk Sportsbowl on 23rd March 2011 for the face-to-face meeting and participation in a joint bowling competition. Initial reserve soon vanished and they found common interests.

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
