Aliens / Limericks / Master chef

Aliens / Limericks / Master chef

  • Aliens: The children described an alien and they put the description up on the wiki and their friend from the opposite school had to paint the alien based on this description. When the alien was completed they then put up their own painting of the alien so we could compare and contrast the similarities and differences.
  • The children composed a limerick and their counterparts in the opposite school had to supply the end line.
  • In groups the children selected a recipe and they made this and presented their work on Elluminate through the use of PowerPoint.

Face-to-face meeting

Venue: Causey Farm. Tuesday May 14th 2013
The venue was chosen as both schools were familiar with this venue and also the distance was the same for both schools. The children did an obstacle course, they blew bubbles, the toured the farm, they had a bodhrán lesson, a tractor ride and they jumped in a bog. The children mixed as when we arrived there we immediately put our classes into smaller groups. The children were also set a number of questions that they had to find the answers from their friends and report back to the teachers.

Videoconferencing

We did videoconferencing on average once a month. It proved very difficult as we had sound delays, etc

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
