Space - To Infinity and Beyond

Age: 10,11
Project Year: 2010-11

Pupils discovered space through working together using ICT

The children began by making a KWL chart and identifying what they wanted to learn about the twinned school. We researched the school and found them using google street view. The classes have been involved in the adding posts in the different forums. A question of the week will be added each week for the children to answer. The classes will make their own profiles using wikis. Each week a different group is in charge of adding posts to the blog. Over the course of the year we will collaborate with each other and complete different tasks based on the theme of Space. So far the children are having great fun interacting with each other on the group forums. The class really enjoyed making the wikis and making changes to their webpages.

Face-to-Face

For our face-to-face we went to Tanagh, Co Monaghan. Tanagh is an outdoor adventure centre where pupils participated in a number of different activities, which included team building tasks, orientering, canoeing and mud sliding.

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
