The Eras of Classical Music

Age: 12,13,14
Project Year: 2011-12

Pupils studied the musical features of the various eras of Classical music

In groups the pupils researched the composers and their styles of music for their wikis. Students also learned how to perform music from the Renaissance and Medieval times along with typical Renaissance dance. Ballyclare Secondary showed Bridgetown a home made trumpet and performed a rap during the videoconferencing session.

Face-to-Face:

Draiocht Teatre, Blanchardstown We met in Draiocht Theatre in Blanchardstown where students took part in a music workshop. During this they had to perform and compose music together in groups while getting to know each other better. After lunch we went Bowling together which was good fun and finally students had time to mix together on their own while doing some shopping.
