Southern school investiagted school in the past 1960's- present day in Ireland while the Northern school investigated school in Victorian times.

The southern school visited the Plunkett museum of Education in Rathmines to learn about school & eductation in the past. The pupils got to sit old school desks.

Face-to-Face:

Omagh Ulster Folk Park Museum was the venue for the face to face meeting. The Ulster park was an excellent meeting point. The tour was very educational & fun as the guides were vibrant & acted in role. We also got a skeaky peek at the Titanic exhibition. It was great for the pupils to meet as they could really identify with each other. Although shy at first they quickly livened up. I would suggest ensuring you partner up a pupil from North with one from South to ensure that everyone mixes. We had ours in April which was a good time as School wasnt as busy but it was still before DB day.

Pupils from Holmpatrick & Harding tired at the end of their tour! Still smiling though

Videoconferencing:

Video confrencing was good when it worked but proved tricky as often there might be something wrong with my connection or visa versa. Debby & I also have very busy classes preparing our pupils for secondary scholl which made it hard to fit everything in on time.

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
