Project Year: 2011-12

We concentrated on 'Getting to know you' based on literacy

The use of the forums enabled our students to independently send messages to each other on the forum and ask questions. We worked together as a class on sourcing information on our school and learning how to upload images and put together our page. As we were both 'rookies' this year we hope to build on what we have learned and incorporate other areas of the curriculum next year.

Face to face:

Two face to face meeting took place.

1. South to North : Beechlawn School 2. North to South: Drogheda Leisure Centre.

1. We had a fantastic day learning about self defence and how to be safe whilst out and about. The students really got to interact and get to know each other. We then had a lovely meal in a local restuarant. A great day all round.

Our day out bowling....lunch!!!

2. We decided to meet in Drogheda so we had longer together. After a meet and greet activity, the students had an hour of bowling, a session in the play area and then lunch. A very enjoyable day out together.

Getting to know each other

Getting to know each other....

We attempted approx 7 sessions with 5 successful attempts. It was a wonderful method of working on what makes us the same and what makes us different.Visual is so important to our students so it was fantastic in that respect. It also gave the students the opportunity to follow up on the messages they had been sending to each other and on the events of the school year in both schools. Hopefully next year we can expand our knowledge and move on to use some of the advanced options.

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
