A cross curricular investigation of RMS Titanic

Children investigated the history of the Titanic as it celebrated the centenary of the sinking of Titanic. There were interpretations by the children of the life of a person on Titanic such as the Captain, a waiter, a person in first and third class, survivors. A description of the ship including the building, nautical route, weight, numbers of passangers, lifeboats and cabins. Pictures of models of clay Titanic ships were also be presented. There was information regarding current events and celebrations with regard to Titanics centerary year and information regarding a letter that was returned to Belfast which was written onboard Titanic.

Videoconferencing

Pupils learned how to complete profiles of themselves, write wikis, conduct a conversation via videoconferencing, research the topic Titanic and write on wikis and forums about what they found.
