Cooking across the Country

Age: 9,10,11
Project Year: 2011-12

This year was about building on the relationship established last year.

As the children had worked together last year, this year was about building on the relationship established. The title of our project was "Cooking across the Country". The children each came up with a simple recipe and all the recipes were put together to give each child a cook book which had been worked on collaboratively. We also aimed to look at how we differed and focused on the different sports we play. As part of our face to face meeting the children got the opportunity to play the partner schools prefererred sports.

Face-to-Face

For the Face to Face meeting, the children from Aughnacloy visited the children from Edgeworthstown at their school. There was some warm up/introductory games to begin. After break the children from Aughacnloy learned to play gaelic football and then the children from Edgeworthstown learned how to play hockey. The children had a yummy lunch of goujons, sausages and chips and after lunch there was loads of more fun activities such as tug of war. Overall the day was a great success and was an extremely enjoyable occasion for all involved.

Videoconferencing

We had a couple of video conferences during the year which were very enjoyable for the children and brought the project to life for them.

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
