Getting to know others and collaboratively producing a book of short stories.

Both schools will interact with one another through all forms of technology available on Dissolving Boundaries - blogs, wikis, podcasts, forums, videoconferencing and so on. We hope to foster good relations between the pupils in both schools through a focus on literacy and science. In this way, the pupils are learning curriculum-based content while also fulfilling the aims of the Dissolving Boundaries programme - improving the pupils' I.C.T. skills while developing a sense of understanding between pupils from both schools.

Face-to-Face

Peak Discovery, Newcastle, Co. Down Peak Discovery is an activity centre where the pupils can interact in a fun and relaxed manner. Ice-breaking activities and team-building activities are essential aspects of this trip as we want to maximise the time we spend together.

Videoconferencing

In our first videconferencing session, the pupils introduced themselves to one another. It was an exciting time as the pupils heard each others accents for the first time! It was an opportunity for pupils in both schools to learn how to speak slowly and clearly, annunciating their words in such a way that their partners would be able to understand them properly. The pupils were very enthusiastic about this form of communication and eagerly awaited the next videoconference!

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
