Stars Around Us & Stars Above Us

Age: 9,10,11
Project Year: 2010-11

Discoverind the stars around us and above us through collaboration.

Pupils are going to be involved in a project looking at the stars around us, like famous stars, pop stars, football stars etc. The project will then move onto looking at the stars above us and the solar system. We are really enjoying the project so far, lots of new information for the children, an opportunity for classes to work together, as well as the children working with children from other schools. Both schools celebrated Dissolving Boundaries Day with their students by putting up displays and sending messages via the Wiki's to each other school to wish them a good day.

The highlight for the project so far has been the face-to-face trip to Armagh Planetarium. Everyone really enjoyed this trip. The presentation was excellent, age appropriate and very explanatory for the children. The tour was brilliant. The children enjoyed their time sharing together and having lunch. We had lots of ideas and news for further work on 'Stars Above Us' when we came back.

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
