School Lives of Others

Age: 9,10
Project Year: 2010-11

Students discovered the world around them while building up a relationships with their partner school

At the start of the project the students got to know each other in their groups using the forums. They then completed profiles of themselves and uploaded a photo for their profile. Students then worked on producing a podcast using highlighting the history of their local area. They found information on the web and got to know how to use Audacity. Students from each school then worked on a short drama which they recorded and sent to their partner. Pupils also worked on creating wiki projects on Rainforests.

Face-to-Face

Students from both schools undertook an overnight face-to-face meeting in Coleraine. The boys from Scoil Mhuire Marino travelled up on bus to be hosted and taken care of by our generous hosts in DH Christie. We learned a lot about the area before having an excellent tour of the Dunluce castle and a very enjoyable visit to the Giant's Causeway.

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
