Instructional Writing

Both Schools worked in groups to collaboratively create wikis using the format of instructional writing. Each group created a different wiki using the themes of Art, Sport and cooking. The pupils completed profiles and exchanged information about their school and personal interests using the forums.

Face-to-face meeting

On Thursday 16th May the children from St. Louis S.P.S. and Cedar I.P.S. travelled to the Fun House in Newry. The children were divided into groups and the groups were then mixed (pupils from ROI and NI) for certain activities within the indoor adventure centre. The children ate lunch together in their DB groups. They got to know the children they were talking to throughout the year. It was a very enjoyable day.

We had a successful videoconference before Halloween. The children enjoyed talking to the pupils in their partner school. Using the technology for videoconferencing was not a problem or issue but finding a suitable time that both classes were available was challenging. The use of videoconferencing has a lot of potential within DB as it promotes a form of communication that is very real for the children and also a very enjoyable method of exchanging information.

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
