Schools - Past, Present and Future

Project Year: 2012-13

A collaborative study of schools through the ages.

Aims: To research and compile information on the above topic in conjunction with partner school.
Other Activities: Regular videoconferences, both in groups and whole-class.
Online Activities: Research, Videoconferences, Forum, Wiki.
Collaboration: Teacher planning meeting, regular e-mail contact, regular videoconferences, face-to-face meeting.

Face-to-Face

Venue: Ulster Folk Museum, October 2012
Why: It linked in with our project theme. Activities: We came together as a whole group and introduced ourselves to one another, we broke into small groups based on our wiki groups and did the tour of the Folk Museum, we came together as a whole group to feedback and eat lunch.

Videoconferencing

How Often: Most weeks. Activities: Whole class, small groups based on wiki groups - telling news and events that were happening in each school, learning about day to day routine of each school. Benefits: Frequent contact with their partner groups, made the project more 'real' for the children

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
