Children researched aspects of their local area to share with their partner school

Students in the partner schools got to know each other in their groups using the forums and by sending postcards to each other. They completed pupil profiles on the wikis that they shared with their partner school. Students in both schools then began researching aspects of their local area to share with their partner school on their respective wikiwebs. They added details to each other's research, including comments, sharing their own thoughts, research and pictures. Students also created quizes for their partner schools to complete. As part of Dissolving Boundaries Day the students created a DB display board in their schools and held a video conference.

For our face-to-face we went to W5 in Belfast a 6th class student describes their day out: When we got there we ate our lunch then we met the class from Portstewart. At 11:30 we went to our 1st workshop to learn about hurricanes and storms. We got to make hurricanes on the computer by choosing the sea tempreture, winds, moisture and location. At 12:30 we went to a 2nd workshop. It was about science it showed us how science works. 1:00 we had our lunch and went to our last workshop were we get to play games. Then at 2:00 we had to say farewell to the pupils from Portstewart and went back to Dublin. It was a great day and the best trip ever!!

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!
