Poetry and Digital Storytelling

Age: 8,9
Project Year: 2010-11

Sharing favorite Poems and collaboratively producing a digital story

Students in the partner schools got to know each other in their groups using the forums. They completed pupil profiles that they shared with their partner school. Pupils then began writing and reading their own and others Poems, sharing these in video conference and Wikis. Later they will be creating a digital Story about a local legend or Myth. We videoconferenced just before Christmas and the students sang Cariols and Hyms to each other for 20-25 mins. In our video conferences pupils talk about their world and the work they are doing. When the technology works it is an excellent medium for communication.

Face-to-Face

For our face-to-face we went to the Share Centre, Lisnaskea, County Fermanagh on Wednesday 20th October 2010. It was a big success as the children had time to get to know each other and attempt challenging activities as a team.

Media Gallery

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
