To Infinity and Beyond

Age: 11
Project Year: 2010-11

Pupils discovered space while making friends with partner school.

At the start of the project the students got to know each other in their groups using the forums. They completed pupil profiles that they shared with their partner school and uploaded photos of their interests. The students worked in their groups and used the forums to find out about each others schools. Students also used the forums to add a "Q of the week" which was answered by their partner school.

The second part of the project was where students learned about space and the solar system. Pupils painted aliens and wrote descriptions based on these pictures. These descriptions were then sent to their partner school where pupils painted a picture based on this. Students used a video conference to present the results of their work to each other.

The children had their face-to-face meeting in Tanagh and they had a super day. They participated in lots of outdoor activities and worked together in teams.
