Joint Art Project

Age: 9,10,11
Project Year: 2010-11

Students worked collaboratively on an art project

The students got to know each other by sending messages on the forums they also uploaded pictures of themselves to the moodle profiles to share with their partner schools. We also covered Egyptian history with the students to link with out face-to-face meeting.

For our face-to-face meeting we visited the Tutankhamun exhibition in the RDS Dublin, we also rented out a room in the RDS where the students could get to know each other and eat their lunch. The face-to-face meeting is the highlight of the year for these students and a lot of preparation is put into organising it. Before the meeting the students make up profiles about themselves that are sent to their partner school. So when they meet on the face-to-face they actually go looking for specific kids who they have similarities with. The day was a huge success and truly enjoyed by all.

For Dissolving Boundaries Day 2014 we invited schools to send us short video recordings that show what DB means to them. We've pieced these together into a movie!

A documentary about linking schools through ICT; case studies of cross-border links between Northern Ireland and Ireland in the Dissolving Boundaries programme and in Israel through the TEC program.
